ALGO Field Notes: You've cultivated a sound that blends gospel, rock, and hip-hop. How do you decide which genre to lean into for a new song?
OleManTez: It’s never a choice I make consciously at the start. It’s always about where the feeling takes me. If the life experience I'm writing about calls for a certain vibe, I just follow the music. My signature is that I don’t try to fit into a box.
ALGO Field Notes: Your latest single, 'Taking A Break', has a distinct country vibe. What inspired that shift?
OleManTez: It was just an honest reflection of my mindset at that moment. I wanted to capture hope and love in a way I hadn't before. For me, music is a fingerprint—it should be unique to the person who made it.
